The International Nut and Dried Fruit Council (INC), the world's leading platform for the dried fruit and nut industry, has revealed the snacking preferences of Gen Z in Latin America.

Mehmet Ali Işık, Chairman of the Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters' Association, commented on the findings, saying, "INC conducted a comprehensive study on the dietary preferences of Gen Z in Latin America, focusing on nut and dried fruit consumption. This generation prioritizes healthy foods rich in plant-based protein, energy, vitamins, and fiber, which is a significant advantage for our industry. The research indicates that Gen Z opts for nuts and dried fruits due to their high health benefits. There is immense potential in this demographic for our sector. According to the study conducted in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Mexico, consumption of peanuts (99%), almonds (97%), and walnuts (94%) is notably high among Gen Z."

INC's Turkey Ambassador Ahmet Bilge Göksan added, "The top nuts consumed by Gen Z are peanuts, almonds, and walnuts, followed by cashews, hazelnuts, and pistachios. In dried fruits, raisins, cranberries, and prunes are the most popular. Known as the 'snacking generation,' 96% of Gen Z reported snacking between meals, favoring yogurt, dairy products, and fresh fruits. To promote nut and dried fruit consumption, INC suggests marketing campaigns that highlight their uses and health benefits. They've launched NutTunes, a series of videos using 3D animation and AI technology, tailored for each market and shared on social media. There's also a NutTunes playlist available on Spotify."

Göksan emphasized, "Gen Z holds the power to set trends, making them the most critical generation for the next decade. INC aims to support healthy eating among Gen Z by promoting the consumption of nuts and dried fruits. At the INC Congress, we proudly represent Turkey's superfoods, such as dried figs, apricots, and seedless raisins, which are listed as healthy foods by the World Health Organization. We meticulously follow INC's research to guide our industry in identifying global consumption trends and adapting to the unique preferences and behaviors of the dynamic Gen Z, thereby enhancing our production and marketing strategies."

This focus on healthy snacking habits among Gen Z underscores the potential growth and importance of the nut and dried fruit industry, driven by a generation that values nutrition and wellness.
